High-security perimeter fencing designed to protect critical telecom infrastructure across Winnipeg and rural Manitoba. Anti-climb, cut-proof and fully code-compliant.
High-Security Perimeter
Cellular tower compounds house equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and provide essential connectivity to thousands of Winnipeg residents. Pete Fixes installs heavy-gauge welded mesh perimeter fencing specifically engineered to secure your property, meeting the strict requirements set by carriers like Rogers, Bell, Telus and SaskTel.
Our cell tower fencing systems use 8-gauge or heavier welded steel wire with small mesh openings that prevent hand and footholds, making unauthorized climbing virtually impossible. Every installation is anchored with deep-set steel posts rated for Manitoba's extreme freeze-thaw cycles, ensuring the perimeter stays rigid and secure through temperatures from -40C to +35C.
Anti-Climb & Cut-Proof Mesh
Standard chain link simply does not provide adequate security for telecom compounds. Our anti-climb welded mesh panels feature tight 3-inch by 0.5-inch apertures that cannot be gripped by fingers or used as footholds. The heavy-gauge wire is welded at every intersection, creating a rigid panel that resists cutting with standard hand tools and bolt cutters.
For sites requiring maximum deterrence, we add barbed wire arms or razor ribbon coils along the top perimeter. Our razor ribbon installations use BTO-22 or BTO-30 concertina coils that are virtually impossible to bypass without specialized equipment. Combined with the anti-climb mesh below, this creates a layered security barrier that meets or exceeds carrier specifications for critical infrastructure protection.
Access Control Integration
Every cell tower compound needs controlled, trackable access. Pete Fixes integrates electronic access control directly into compound gate systems, allowing telecom carriers to manage who enters the site and when. Our installations support keypad entry, proximity card readers, cellular-based smart locks and biometric systems depending on carrier requirements.
We install heavy-duty swing gates or slide gates sized for service vehicle access, fitted with commercial-grade magnetic locks and automatic closers to ensure the compound is never left unsecured. Security camera mounting points are integrated into fence posts and gate frames, providing clear sightlines for CCTV monitoring. All wiring is concealed in conduit to prevent tampering.
Compliance & Standards
Telecom compound fencing in Manitoba must satisfy both carrier-specific security standards and municipal zoning bylaws. Pete Fixes understands the requirements from major Canadian carriers and works directly with project managers and site acquisition teams to ensure every installation meets spec on the first pass, avoiding costly rework and project delays.
We handle the full scope of compound fencing from initial site survey through to final inspection. This includes compliance with City of Winnipeg development permits, rural municipality regulations and Industry Canada guidelines for telecom infrastructure. Our team is experienced with both new compound builds and retrofits of existing sites that need security upgrades to meet current standards.
